  • The global cannabis infused edibles market could exceed $11.5B by 2025

Former HeavyWeight boxer Mike Tyson wants you to chomp down on his latest cannabis snack “Mike Bites,” ear shaped gummies. The shape of his edible snacks serves as an homage to the infamous boxing match back in 1997 when Tyson bit a chunk of flesh out of Evander Holyfield’s right ear. As the world begins to embrace the medicinal, recreational and industrial benefits of cannabis, the global cannabis infused edibles market could exceed $11.5 billion by 2025, leaving Tyson in a very profitable position.

Why This Matters: What began as a small, underground market has quickly grown into a booming legal industry with immense opportunities for growth. From increased popularity in edibles to CBD-infused beverages and beyond, cannabis products are becoming more mainstream.

The cannabis industry is exploding with new products and business opportunities. Tyson has been selling various marijuana strains, edibles and extracts since 2016. It is a highly versatile commodity that can be used in numerous ways hence the multi-faceted angles being explored by celebrities.

From a business standpoint, celebrities can lend star power to a product or provide insights in an industry that they’re passionate about. They’re not just putting their faces on products, they’re getting involved in every aspect of the cannabis industry. Snoop Dogg has his own line of cannabis flowers and edibles; Leafs by Snoop. Whoopi Goldberg has her own line of pot-infused menstrual cramps soothers, and most recently, Wiz Khalifa with Khalifa Kush.

What’s Next: The state of Colorado has banned Tyson’s weed edible gummies due to a law that was introduced back in 2016. This law prohibits marijuana edibles from being shaped like humans, to avoid situations where kids get hooked on the product.
